(Name kept private by request),

Life begins in our heart (spirit). Your struggles are mainly with the
flesh. Don't confuse the two. Paul says that the spirit and the flesh
are at war with one another. It seems that you've developed some
fleshly habit patterns that need to be replaced. Replacement is
what Jesus offers. Even Paul had to struggle with his flesh. But he
also found the answer. Jesus told Paul that God's power was made
perfect in his weakness.

This means that you need to acknowledge your weakness, and
know that in yourself you cannot overcome. The overcoming power
is communicated to us by the Spirit. But it isn't always a 'quick fix'
operation. There may be a number of things that you must learn to
do. Some of these 'things' include learning how to 'think' on proper
things. Another would be to avoid companionships and situations
that you know will result in a flesh trip.

But on top of all this, you need to ask the Lord to show you how to
be an overcomer. It is obvious to me that you love Him, and that
you want to please Him. (By the way, according to the Scriptures,
God has already made you an overcomer.)

Finally, I would recommend that you go on a heart search in His
Word (Scriptures) for answers for your life. The Holy Spirit is able
to implant things into your heart and mind that can help you in ways
you couldn't imagine.

Here is a good place to start --- Psalm 139. Read it carefully and
think upon every thing that is being said. At the end of that Psalm
is a prayer for you to pray.

Let me know how things are going. I will stand in faith with you for
your victory.

The Lord bless you,

Buddy
