> Question:
> What is the difference between Jews and
Christians?
The primary distinction centers on Jesus. Judaism as a rule has not
accepted Jesus as the Messiah. But this is changing for a great many
Jewish people. Many Jews are taking a hard, second look at Jesus,
Some are accepting Him as a prophet or a great teacher. But a great
many are beginning to receive Him as their Messiah. The Bible tells us
this will happen.
> Did Christianity start with the birth and death of
Christ or did it
> exist before he was born.
Christianity is based on the new covenant. This covenant did not go
into effect until the cross. As a religion Christianity did not exist before
Christ was born. But neither did the Judaism that is in the world today. It
originated after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 a.d.
However, Christianity as a faith existed from ancient time. God's
ancient people longed for the coming of Messiah. Their faith was
realized in Jesus. So the answer to your questions depends on which
window you are looking through.
> Do the Jewish and Christians worship the same God,
This question is not without its difficulties. I would say, yes, they
worship the same God, but the Jews are unable to know God in His
fullness without knowing God's Son.
> ... but don't agree on the virgin Mary.
The distinction between Judaism and Christianity is not an issue of the
Virgin Mary. It concerns itself with Jesus.
> Did Moses live before or after Jesus and was he
Jewish.
Moses lived before Jesus. No, Moses wasn't Jewish. He was a
Hebrew. The name Jew comes from the tribe of Judah. Moses was
from the tribe of Levi. As an expression, the word Jew came to be
used long after Moses died.
Feel free to ask questions. I hope this has helped you.
