Richard,

You asked two questions. I'll provide what I can.

(1) Was Jesus Christ "the son of god," really God himself, that took the form of a man?

Jesus was God manifested in humanity. At the same time the apostle said that Jesus Christ is God's mystery. Therefore He is called the Son of God, the Wisdom of God, the Word of God, and the Image of God. The mystery involves how the transcendent God who exists outside of time and eternity, can enter into our world in a form that is perceivable to humankind. It is an awesome subject that has never been exhausted.

(2) What is the name of the son, the father and the holy spirit? Is it Jesus Christ?

This question is a little tricky to answer. Jesus Christ was never the name of God. However, the Bible says that God gave Jesus the name that is above every name. Jewish readers would have understood this much better that we do. There was only one name used in the Old Testament for God that was considered above every other name. It was YHWH.

When Paul says that God has given Jesus the name that is above every name, this means that the only name given today wherein men can be saved is to call upon Jesus. This is why Jesus told the apostles that they believed in God, now they were to also believe in Him. (That is, with the same faith.)

Good questions.
