Michelle,
There are no pointless questions if they truly come from the heart
and the questioner is seeking valid answers.
> I'm a 16 year old new Christian (Protestant)...and
I just want to
> know...how can you be sure you're interpreting the Bible correctly?
The Bible can stand on its own. The more you read it, the clearer its
message becomes. But there is a key to the Bible that folk often
miss. The Bible is not simply a historical document. It is the story of
redemption. The underlying theme that holds all the Scriptures
together is the story of God's Son, the One we know as Jesus
Christ. Discover this key and the Bible will share its rich treasures.

Michelle, you have a good mind. You've already figured some of
the disparagements of religion. This is great. Don't stop studying
the Scriptures. And don't stop asking the Lord to open your eyes to His
wonderful truths. And don't believe anything that any religion puts
out if it does not square with the Scriptures themselves.
To bring this closer home, I need to tell you that Jesus did not
come into our world to give us another religion, or a better religion. He
came for one purpose. Jesus came to redeem us by offering
Himself as a sacrifice for our sins. Out of His work of the cross we can now
have
a relationship with God Almighty. The Bible says that God's life is in
His Son. We are given God's life when we truly believe in Jesus
Christ as our Lord and Savior.

interpretations...they

You are right about the many religions. Don't let religion be your
goal. It is your love for truth that is going to give you all the
answers you need. Truth itself will never be found in a religion.
Truth is a Person. Jesus said that He is the way, the truth, and the
life.
Michelle, there are a lot of good Christian churches but don't ever
let anyone tell you that a certain group has all the truth. You have
Jesus. That means you have the truth. Walk with Him. Love Him.
Ask Him to place you where you need to be. And ask Him to open your
understanding in all that concerns Him. As a child of the kingdom
you have direct access to the throne of God. The Lord is only a prayer
away.
> I just want the truth, not someone else's opinion.
Good luck
> answering this, this is one big honking essay of questions. Thank
> you for your time!
I appreciate your honest questioning. Hope I've helped just a bit.
Feel free to continue this discussion. I will help you as best I can.
But I will also assure you that when you take Jesus to your heart,
He will become all the truth of your life. So don't get caught up in the
net of comparing religions. Let it be Jesus alone.
The Lord bless you,
Buddy
