Thank you for writing.

Many church groups have traditions that are peculiar to them. The UPC is no exception. Church traditions are where lines are drawn but they aren't always accurate to the Scriptures. But traditions don't die very easy.

This is why the UPC continues to lose members not to mention a lot of ministers. As people gain a better understanding of the Scriptures, they also see where certain doctrines of the UPC are inaccurate. People today are more knowledgeable than many of the past. They search things out for themselves. (Which is a good thing.)

The real issue with the UPC is their hard core leadership. Prayer isn't the real issue. Everything centers on control. The UPC has pretty much painted themselves into a corner with regard to other Christians. Once they let up on one doctrine they are faced with another that they have to deal with. The list could go on.

The bottom line with the UPC is not on standards. They actually mispreach the gospel of Jesus. They add things that do not belong.

Hope this helps.

Buddy
