Becky,
I am real hesitant in sharing this. I am much more familiar
with the Messianic movement and the divine name movement than
you realize. What I need to tell you is that when you left the
UPC and found yourself involved with Messianics, all you did
was change from one form of bondage to another. This happens a
lot to people who have been in a legalistic religion.
You said that you searched this out thoroughly from the
Scriptures. I don't think so. If your understanding of the new
covenant was were it should be, you would not be defending the
law of Moses as an instrument of righteousness in the new
covenant. The law of Moses was nailed to the cross. It was a
wedding covenant. The marriage partner of Israel died, thus
the covenant was set aside. Out of the resurrection came a new
marriage covenant. It is totally different from the law of
Moses.
However, I realize that you will not wish to accept this
from me, at least, not now. Perhaps one day you will desire to
understand things a bit better. Anyway, don't feel that you
need to respond to this. I won't be entering into a debate or
dialogue with you on the merits of the Messianic movement. But
if you feel you must respond, then do so.
