Mieko,
To understand this issue you need to understand covenants. The
covenant of Christ is a 'new' covenant. The prophet said that the
new covenant would not be like the covenant given to Moses. The
apostle said that the old things have passed away. There is no Sabbath
commandment in the covenant of Christ. This is because we have
entered into the 'rest' that comes from the finished work of the cross. As for
first day worship, this became traditional among believers early on.
And it does connect with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Hope this helps.
