Ask The Pastor

> Question: I need to ask something for the sake of my soul and mental sanity. Ever since I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to help me, forgive me for my sins, and save me, I've been getting both good and terrible visions of angels and demons. Do you think I'm losing my mind or could it be that God opened my eyes to a world that most people don't usually see?

God is not the author of confusion so you can be sure that what is happening to you is not from the Lord. It seems more likely that there is a fear in your life that surfaces in the form of mental images. Keep in mind that God never uses 'fear' in dealing with His children. John said that perfect love casts out all fear.

Another issue would be if you have been involved in occultic things in your past. This would be a good time to consult with your pastor. If you have opened up your life to spirits in the past, they will certainly attempt to gain an advantage over your thinking.

Then there is one other thing that needs to be considered. It appears that you have not been instructed in the things of the Lord well enough to discern what is from him and what is from the enemy. Here again it would help to consult with our pastor or with Christians you consider to be mature in the faith.

There are other questions I could ask, such as, have you been baptized, and are you attending a Bible believing church, but perhaps what I've shared will help you.
