Ask The Pastor

> Buddy - I don't know if you ever met a jew , but I
can see you really ought to. the Jews I have known can't understand why anyone
would be a Christian, they believe we do not understand the scriptures because
our "translations are all wrong" , that they alone are the Chosen
people (Master race), that Jesus Christ was a bastard and that Mary was a slut.
John,
Thanks for taking time to write. Yes, I've met a number of Jews. Some are
as you described. This seems more true with those who follow the
traditional orthodox teachings. It is also true to a lesser extent with
Conservative and even less with Reformed Jews. But this line of thinking does
seem to be common with a great many Jews.
I get a number of questions from Jewish folk. The level of communications
depends on the individual. I've had some attack me with venom. Others are like
frightened rabbits. I try to be discerning to
the person. The problem area is keeping them in dialogue. Many carry a fear of
'being found out' with regard to talking with a Christian. Most of them have
little to no knowledge of the Scriptures.
> I think most Jews don't say this publicly but I
assure you they can really be quite arrogant privately.
Wish I could say that I disagree with you, but I have found this to be true
in a number of instances. Even in what is called the Messianic movement, which
is supposed to be made up of Jews who have
turned to Jesus, the arrogance is often seen.
> There was not enough room in Germany for the Jews
and Nazis both laying claim to being the masters of the world. I won't go into
the Jewish banking of both sides of World War I, but there were some serious
grievances forgotten by history in its efforts to forever bury Hitler.
On our Ask the Pastor site, I simply deal with Biblical issues. For some
reason our site has become a major hit for 'searches' on Hitler and the Jews.
Most of the hits are kids wanting me to do their
homework for them. But it isn't our purpose to deal with
historical-social-political issues of Hitler and the Jews. We limit ourselves
mainly to Scriptural questions. This is why my responses seem so narrow.
> I understand that hatred - Hitler was a monster,
but I am sorry simple truths of Jewish mistakes are also being buried and
forgotten.
You may want to visit our web site where I provide studies for the public.
You can view a series called 'Struggles in Israel,' where I deal with some of
what you have addressed. These are the studies
you may find interesting:

Thanks again for writing.
